At CENTRUM BEST MRO, we are introducing artificial intelligence into production management to reduce human-factor risks, improve information control and make component maintenance more predictable.
As our production volume grows, the number of components in work, material requests, technical records, customer communications and parallel shop-floor activities grows with it. At a certain scale, relying only on individual memory, manual follow-up and disconnected communication creates unnecessary operational risk.
That is why we have started building an AI-assisted production management system inside CENTRUM BEST MRO.
What AI is already helping us control
AI supports daily monitoring of component movement through production stages — from incoming inspection and disassembly through cleaning, NDT, assembly, painting, testing and release preparation.
The system helps identify missing information, delayed operations and situations where the next production step has not been clearly defined. It also supports Production Planning & Control by consolidating work-in-progress data and helping the team prepare the next production plan.
We are also integrating AI into stock and procurement control so that material requirements can be checked, prioritized and escalated without losing time between production, warehouse and purchasing teams.
Information control is part of production control
In aviation maintenance, many operational problems do not happen because a qualified specialist cannot perform the work. They happen because the right information does not reach the right person at the right time.
We therefore use AI to structure communication between production, planning, engineering support, warehouse and procurement, while preserving a traceable history of actions and component status.
AI does not sign Form 1 and it does not replace certifying staff.
Technical decisions, maintenance execution and component release remain the responsibility of qualified and authorized personnel. AI is there to help people avoid missing information, unfinished actions, material requirements and production deviations.
From separate controls to one digital production system
Our next step is to connect production, planning, stock, procurement, engineering, customer communication and management reporting into one operating system.
The goal is simple: management should be able to understand the real production situation quickly — what is in work, where there are delays, which materials are missing, what can be completed today and what capacity is available next.
Why we are doing this
We are building CENTRUM BEST MRO not simply as another component workshop, but as a modern MRO platform for Central Asia — one that can scale production without scaling administrative complexity at the same rate.
I believe the most practical role of AI in aviation MRO is not to replace specialists, but to strengthen their control and reduce the probability of human error.
